Dr. Monte L. Carlson
Dr. Carlson’s passion is his family. He and his wife, Denise, have five children. The oldest was born in 1979 and the youngest in 2000. As of December 2008 they have 3 grandchildren.
His favorite hobby is cycling. You have probably seen him riding from his Richmond office home to Logan, or somewhere else in the valley. In 2004 he completed the Lotoja, a ride from Logan to Jackson Hole, in about 11 hours.
Dr. Carlson graduated from Sky View High School in 1973, served an L.D.S. mission in Ohio and West Virginia, and graduated from Utah State University in 1980. His doctoral education was completed at The University of Washington in Seattle.
Following Dental School Dr. Carlson spent 5 years in the United States Air Force, stationed at McChord Air Force Base and Mountain Home Air Force Base. At both bases Dr. Carlson was the Flight Dental Officer in charge of the dental care of pilots, nuclear personnel, and commanding officers. During his military experience he earned a commendation medal and set the record for the 1 and ½ mile sprint for the McChord Medical Corp.
In 1989 Dr. Carlson moved to Richmond, purchasing the practice of Dr. Edward G. Merrill, who had practiced dentistry in Richmond for over 40 years. In 1997 the current office of Cherry Creek Dental was completed.
In June of 2008 Dr. Brandon Priebe, Dr. Carlson’s son-in-law, graduated from The University of Washington Dental School and joined Dr. Carlson at Cherry Creek Dental.
